Inspiring Conversations with Gabriela Pinango of Organic Alchemy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Pinango. Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started? It’s actually a very quirky story and I hope you can find it as impactful as I did. A few years back, I was invited to a trip to Dominican Republic with a group of friends, I had never been and I am a travel and culture lover. So I quickly accepted and started preparing to visit this new adventure, bought my ticket, got my manicure and pedi, researched about the country, got some mosquito repellent (because they love me) and in no time I was in Santo Domingo, the capital. I arrived late in the night and had a quick bite with my friend and went to sleep, we were only one day in the city and soon the rest of our friends arrived and we headed to the beautiful part of the country called Samana, there you have some of the most beautiful beaches and tropical flora and soon we after our arrival we went to the beach to relax. As the afternoon settled my friends the mosquitoes came out and started biting all parts of my body but thankfully, I had come prepared and started spraying my body non-stop. This was a great relief at the moment but not so much later on, as you will see. The next morning as I woke up, I saw that my nail polished had melted and now looked like gum coming out of my nails, I could not believe it! But the only thing that touched my body the previous night was the mosquito repellent, my common sense said if this is what is doing to my nail polish imagine what it can do to our skin? How harmful can this be to our bodies even though we do not see it? My trip ended but my mind was restless trying to learn more about how chemicals can be harmful to us. So I decided to take a class in herbology and learn more about alternative ways to care for our bodies that would not have any harmful side effects. More and more, I started diving into learning and working on concoctions for myself and others, I guess my mom’s medical background and my grandpa’s in pharmacology rubbed off on me because I wanted to continue to learn more and decided to study aromatherapy as well. During this time, I became fascinated with the benefits of using essential oils in your skin and how it could reduce the signs of aging, rosacea and other things without any side effects. One thing led to another and I began playing with ingredients and making my own serum which I started testing in my own face, the results were amazing to me because I began to see my skin transform and my rosacea fade. My family members and friends began to notice a transformation and asked me what I was doing differently and to make it for them as well. Organic Alchemy was born because I realized I needed to share my passion and knowledge so I could help others to transform their skin just like it transformed mine. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome? Being a spiritual being, I think that challenges make us grow and are part of our lives, whether they are personal or professional and yes, I have encountered many along the way. Starting a company encompasses numerous things that most people are not aware of, such as branding, advertising, getting the right people to work with, using correct labels and print companies and so on. This process can become very overwhelming and if you do not have the passion for what you are doing, you can easily give up, but this process has not just helped me to develop wonderful relationships with other companies and professionals but has also helped me grow as a person and as a professional but more than anything to believe in myself and in what I do. So if any of you are going through a hardship or a big challenge now, DONT GIVE UP, like Joel Osteen says “The size of your problem is an indication of the size of your future”. We’ve been impressed with Organic Alchemy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others? I have always dreamed of doing something that was more than just a profitable business, I wanted to be able to have a positive impact on other human beings. Most people do not know how harmful chemicals can be to our bodies and how it can affect us long term “chemicals rob our bodies of their ability to regenerate”, part of my purpose with the company is to generate awareness and not just a product. If today you buy a natural product instead of one with harmful chemicals because of a post I made, I feel accomplished because I am helping you live a healthier more balanced life. What do I specialize in? When I began developing our products, I carefully selected and crafted our formulas with ingredients that will have anti-aging effects but will also make you feel good as well. My formulas are crafted to unite Body, Mind & Soul so I incorporated healing stones and aromatherapy with essential oils that are known for boosting your mood and generating feeling of well-being. Another super plus is that Organic alchemy’s products are 100% natural with no use of fillers, chemicals, petroleum, synthetics, parabens, sodium laurel sulfate and phthalates and of course, no animal testing. Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis? I cannot complain, during the time of Covid I have stayed healthy and been able to sustain my business as well, but more than ever it has been a season to care more for what we put into our system and for what we invest time in. The biggest change I made during covid was to go Vegan, and that has had a very positive impact in my health, mood and wellbeing in general, when we stop eating meat the PH of your body stops being acidic and becomes more balanced and alkaline, I believe it has helped me stay healthy and full of energy. Secondly, I invested my time into things that would help me grow professionally and personally. I have always been a glass kind of full person, so when Covid hit and decided, I was not going to worry (stress lowers your immune system) and that I was going to use the energy and free time to grow my business and to grow personally. So I began investing more time meditation as well classes to stay up-to-date in trends of organic materials to be able to provide my clients with the best possible product in the market. So, I believe this time helped me grow as a person and as a professional, it helped me realize that if I can get through this, I can get through anything. Contact Info:
